These guys are awesome! My SUV overheated on I-15 and I barely made it to another mechanic. When they couldn't find the problem I found Certified Automotive was near by on my phone, and went there. They saw right away I was in a tough spot and gave me a discount on my diagnostic. They found the problem in about really fast, which didn't end up being too bad, and quickly made the repair. They explained plainly what the problem was, which as someone who doesn't know a ton about cars was really great. I would recommend them to anyone, and if I lived in the Salt Lake valley (I'm from Provo) they would defiantly become my mechanic.

Nicholas, I am glad we were able to take care of the issue you had with your SUV when you were in Salt Lake City. If we can be of further assistance with your automotive needs please give us a call.

Keith and his crew do a great job. They took very good care of my 2001 Honda Accord before I sold it. Now will take good care of my 2014 Toyota Camry.

Steve, It is a pleasure taking care of your vehicles. Thank you. Keith

I have been to more than 7 shops (some were Gephardt approve, one was AAA approved, etc.) regarding an issue that caused emission items to state "Not Ready". Certified Automotive had a plan, knew the urgency, kept me informed along the way, and FIXED it. I will never take my car anywhere else. Every staff member I worked with, Richard, Rudy, and Keith, was professional and helpful.

Thanks Peggy, it was a challenge tracking down the issue with your car and I'm glad you are happy with our service.

I took my truck in for an inspection and emission test. During the inspection they discovered that my brakes needed work. (which I already suspected) They called with a very fair and reasonable price to do the work and had everything done that day. Good, quick, honest, reliable service is what I got from Keith and his team. So good that this is the only place I will take my truck in for service in the future.

Phil, it is our pleasure to be trusted with the care of your truck and thank you for the kind words. It can be a challenge to find a good auto repair mechanic in Salt Lake City or anywhere as far as that goes.

Amazing, honest and incredible work! I went in for a brake inspection and an oil change and upon completion they told me exactly what was wrong with my brakes, what it would cost to fix it, what the warranty would be and how long it would take. Having no coupons in hand I was planning on paying the full price for the services. Keith stepped in and told me that he would give me the coupon price for the services rendered and took care of the inspection charge cutting my bill by 3/4! I would very much recommend this place to anyone looking for good, quality, honest and reliable automotive work.

Kyle, we really appreciate your business and it is a joy to see your smiling face when you come to the shop.

I had a similar exp with the other poster who left one star review here. The owner is pleasant and nice, but their service is very ineffective, and they will overcharge you. I brought in my car for a simple few services. "They assumed what the cause was and replaced the part." Then, they called me that didn't fix the problem and that they now knew what the real problem was. Well, I got charged for the time they spent to replace the non-broken part and for the new part. In the end, they charged me $1,500!!! I later did some research and consulted with a few other autoshops, and they all agreed that I got way overcharged for what the actual service entailed. What's worse, I brought my car to them to diagnose another problem around the same time. Well, they failed to diagnose the problem again and ended up replacing something else, which didn't fix the problem. This time, I refuse to pay for it. It honestly took them two or three different visits to diagnose the true problem, which I could have done myself better by just looking it up on youtube (I say this because I actually ended up doing this because I really didn't trust them at this point). And, guess what? They told me what they assumed the problem was (or, maybe they knew they were lying), and they said it would cost me another $1,500!!! I have done quite a bit of research afterwards, and like I said I followed DIY video on youtube and found out that the problem WAS NOT what they told me and that it did not cost $1,500 to fix it (I could fix it for only a couple of hundred dollars). Be warned. This place is either utterly incompetent or dishonest in their business practice. Either way, they will try to charge you more than necessary. I'm never letter them touch my car again.

One Simura, I would appreciate if you would identify yourself so I am able to look at your repair history to see exactly what happened. If you could explain what the repair was I am very interested in what you did to fix it.

Went to fix a grinding notice on the wheels.. They asked me to replace front wheel bearings on one side.. It didn't fix the issue. Then other side was replaced.. The problem was never resolved.. I just lost more than 1k.. -- I am just editing this post to reply back to your reply. your reply is partly true. First time your mechanic called me and told the issue was with wheel bearing since it is not able to hold the weight of the engine. I even asked him which side and he told passenger's side. If you told me that u were not sure, i wouldnt have allowed you to replace it. Coz i already took it to 2 other places and they were not able to fix it. Second time u called me and told it didnt fix and told it may be the problem on other side and you are not sure. Thats when i asked you to replace that one as well.

Aneesh, thank you for the review. We told you most likely the noise was a wheel bearing however we were not positive which wheel. You authorized the wheel bearing replacement knowing we were not 100% positive which wheel bearing was making the noise. When I spoke to you on the phone I emphasized to you that we are not absolutely certain the noise is coming from the wheel bearing and I could not guarantee replacing the wheel bearing would solve the problem. You said to go ahead and replace the wheel bearing so we did as you ask.

"emissions test" I bought the emissions test on Angies List for $28. Great price. I was pleased with their service and would use them again.

"Certified Automotive" Thank you. So glad you have a car service which took me home. I don't always have people to help with that. It made service so much easier.
